Unpopular opinion about Trenton

Hey everyone, The unemployment rate is 6.3%, which is concerning. Median household income is $47,102, which feels on the lower side for the area. The median home value here is around $122,500, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 89,966, Trenton is a smaller city. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Strong job market in several industries
- The outdoor recreation scene is decent

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 3 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into running, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Riverside area are improving. Kids love it here.

Used to live on the Meadowbrook side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.
