Why I chose Trenton over bigger cities

Curious what people think. The median home value here is around $122,500, which is actually reasonable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Worth the trade-offs? Thanks! Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Charlotte about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is improving.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. No regrets on my end..
