Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. Median household income is $87,788, which feels pretty solid for the area. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Cedar Grove. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in finance. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like seafood.
Hope this helps!.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.
