OK so My family moved here when I was a kid. Poverty rate is 5.1%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,710 for rent here. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. What neighborhoods would you suggest?

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Maple Ridge for 10 years. Moved from Raleigh for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
legal is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is tough - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Chain restaurants dominate. And food scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 9/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Moved here from San Francisco about 7 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to cost of living but No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Westside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- The community vibe scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Hope this helps!.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much stable but now it's surprisingly good.
