Moving to Triangle -what should I know?

Hey folks, I relocated for work and It's a a small town city with about 11,265 people. Poverty rate is 5.9%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Anyone in a similar situation? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great sushi places. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Came here for work and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The food scene is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Tampa about 14 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is improving.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Hope this helps!.
