Honest thoughts on life in Trinity

Household incomes average around $113,125 in Trinity. Homes are going for about $422,000 on average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What do you all think? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Chicago about 12 years ago. The main reasons were weather and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are manageable, gas is solid.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely tough and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Downtown) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
