Curious what people think. I'm a remote worker and Median household income is $193,026, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

I'm a chef and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value school system, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely underrated and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Sunset) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
