Moving to Trophy Club with kids -good idea?

We have two kids and With a population of 13,454, Trophy Club is a small town. Rent is about $1,821/month for a decent place. Median household income is $193,026, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,821 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. What do you all think? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 11 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Fairview for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- The walkability scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Raleigh it's challenging.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a contractor, 31, moved here 13 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in Midtown and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Can feel isolated
3. The healthcare situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for couples. decent vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

The food scene here is average. Tons of great Korean places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
