Anyone work in healthcare in Troutman?

Curious what people think. The median home value here is around $349,100, which seems about average.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much wild but now it's better than expected.

Bought a house here in 2017 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I'm a sales manager and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely underrated and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Eastside) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.
