Rent vs buy in Troy -what makes sense?

Born and raised here. Homes are going for about $212,100 on average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Is this normal for Troy?

Bought a house here in 2019 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
