Best companies to work for in Troy?

Curious what people think. I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $199,400, which is actually reasonable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Am I overthinking this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much manageable but now it's hit or miss.

I work in consulting here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is underrated. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Fairview for 15 years. Moved from San Francisco for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
finance is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is improving - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Fairview schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Far from beaches/mountains. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 8/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
