How is Truckee for outdoor activities?

Hey, We're a young couple and The median home value here is around $884,000, which is pretty steep. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Am I overthinking this? Thanks for reading. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I've lived in Riverside for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:

- Friendly community, easy to meet people

- Low crime in most neighborhoods

- The pet-friendliness scene is average

The downsides:

- Limited high-paying job options

- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..
