Anyone else feel this way? I'm a remote worker and Household incomes average around $38,951 in Trujillo Alto zona urbana. It's a a smaller city city with about 43,752 people. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Downtown. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in tech. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
- The public transit scene is improving
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Rising rent and home prices
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 15 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is pretty good.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 10 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
