What surprised you most about Trujillo Alto zona urbana?
Anyone else feel this way? We have two kids and Poverty rate is 24.1%, which is higher than I expected. Household incomes average around $38,951 in Trujillo Alto zona urbana. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Thanks!

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a writer, 27, moved here 7 years ago from San Francisco. I've lived in Highland and Fairview, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Decent public transit for the size
2. Close to major attractions
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Dating scene is rough
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The food scene situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Highland: Great for families. decent vibes, walkable.
- Fairview: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Francisco, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$110K here.
**Final verdict:**

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Sunset area are decent. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Riverside. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in construction. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
