Moving from Orlando to Trumbull Center next month

Homes are going for about $463,100 on average. You can expect to pay around $2,163 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 5.0%, which is about average. Rent is about $2,163/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Has anyone dealt with this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely solid and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much established but now it's underrated.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in East. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in retail. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Fairview for 13 years. Moved from Houston for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is decent - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Fairview schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Bugs and humidity in summer. Far from beaches/mountains. And public transit can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 9/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in North for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- The public transit scene is decent

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Dallas about 6 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Happy to answer more specific questions..
