Best kept secrets of Trussville, AL

Hello, Military spouse here. Homes are going for about $351,500 on average. The unemployment rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I wrong here? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
