Freelancing from Trussville -experience?

Hey everyone, I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $120,794 in Trussville. The median home value here is around $351,500, which seems about average. Rent is about $1,450/month for a decent place. Median household income is $120,794, which feels pretty solid for the area. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Anyone in a similar situation? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Bought a house here in 2021 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely excellent and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Salt Lake City it's surprisingly good.
