Unpopular opinion about Trussville

The median home value here is around $351,500, which seems about average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Anyone in a similar situation?

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great seafood places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Cedar Grove for 15 years. Moved from Nashville for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited entertainment options. Far from beaches/mountains. And traffic can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 7/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I work in tech here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in South for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals
- The housing market scene is average

The downsides:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..
