Anyone else feel this way? I'm a nurse at the local hospital and It's a a smaller city city with about 48,610 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from San Francisco about 2 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is decent.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've been in Maple Ridge for 2 years. Moved from New York for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.
**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is pretty good - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
