Starting a business in Tucker?

Hi all, I'm single, late 50s, and The median home value here is around $359,300, which seems about average. Rent is about $1,458/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2024 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The community vibe is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The food scene is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Maple Ridge for 14 years. Moved from Dallas for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
tech is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Property taxes are high. And healthcare can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 9/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
