Just moved here 2 months ago and Rent is about $1,354/month for a decent place. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What neighborhoods would you suggest? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The housing market is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Springfield for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- The healthcare scene is decent
The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
