Tullahoma job market vs Portland

Curious what people think. Been living here since 2020. You can expect to pay around $866 for rent here. Household incomes average around $60,855 in Tullahoma. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Any advice would be great. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The weather is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much pricey but now it's pretty good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Meadowbrook. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in engineering. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
