First post here. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Household incomes average around $58,407 in Tulsa. It's a a mid-size city city with about 412K people. The median home value here is around $189,600, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What would you do? Cheers. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Boston about 12 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is pretty good.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Definitely worth checking out..
