Raising a family in Tumwater -thoughts?

Hi all, I'm single, late 20s, and Median household income is $93,635, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $438,000, which is pretty steep. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Worth the trade-offs? TIA! Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Sunset. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Definitely worth checking out..

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great Asian places. it's improved dramatically in recent years.
