Been meaning to ask this. Born and raised here. Rent is about $940/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $66,314 in Tupelo. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Thoughts? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Lakewood. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in construction. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Italian.
No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Uptown. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in tech. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
