Longtime lurker here, It's a a smaller city city with about 37,825 people. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is decent in most areas.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
- The walkability scene is tough
The downsides:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Eastside for 5 years. Moved from San Diego for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Rising rent and home prices. And cost of living can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
