Moving to Turlock for work -advice?

My family moved here when I was a kid. The unemployment rate is 4.8%, which is about average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Boston it's average.
