Moving to Turlock -what should I know?

Random thought, Crime rate is something to consider -Turlock sits at 574.7 per 100K. Homes are going for about $443,900 on average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Worth the trade-offs? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 9 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Hope this helps!.
