Anyone else love living in Tustin?

Curious what people think. Born and raised here. You can expect to pay around $2,340 for rent here. With a population of 79,035, Tustin is a smaller city. Rent is about $2,340/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $108,435 in Tustin. Median household income is $108,435, which feels pretty solid for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Good job market
- Growing food scene
- Low taxes

Cons:
- Not very walkable
- Limited dining options
- Boring for young people
Thoughts? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely improving and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Old Town) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 40, moved here 10 years ago from New York. I've lived in Old Town and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Good internet infrastructure
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The traffic situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Old Town: Great for remote workers. tough vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
