Rent in Tustin getting crazy

First post here. I'm a remote worker and Median household income is $108,435, which feels pretty solid for the area. With a population of 79,035, Tustin is a smaller city. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Should I be concerned? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I've lived in Midtown for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- The safety scene is average

The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in North. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in real estate. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.
