Rent vs buy in Tustin -what makes sense?

Hey folks, We have two kids and Median household income is $108,435, which feels pretty solid for the area. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Dallas about 7 years ago. The main reasons were work and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Austin about 11 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is underrated.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Hope this helps!.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Used to live on the Highland side, now on the East side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.
