Couple moving to Twin City from out of state

I'm a college student here and Median household income is $37,271, which feels on the lower side for the area. Homes are going for about $97,100 on average. The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. It's a a small town city with about 1,983 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I wrong here? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 32, moved here 12 years ago from Denver. I've lived in Westside and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Diverse dining options
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The community vibe situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for singles. tough vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Denver, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $70K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
