Freelancing from Tyler -experience?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Homes are going for about $216,400 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What would you do? Thanks for reading. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is improving in most areas.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The walkability scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. No regrets on my end..

Moved here from Atlanta about 3 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to cost of living but Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Fairview. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Old Town. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Lakewood for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The dating scene scene is solid

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Bought a house here in 2019 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
