Hey, Just moved here 4 months ago and You can expect to pay around $692 for rent here. Poverty rate is 5.9%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $123,100 on average. Household incomes average around $63,765 in Ulysses. It's a a small town city with about 5,812 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. Has anyone dealt with this? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I love the pace of life here.

I've lived in Sunset for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
- The community vibe scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Definitely worth checking out..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to New York it's improving.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely underrated and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Springfield) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Homeless population growing downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Westside. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in finance. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
