Hey folks, I grew up here but left for a while. Poverty rate is 4.5%, which is pretty low. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Bought a house here in 2015 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Moved here from Pittsburgh about 6 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to healthcare but No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Nashville about 6 years ago. The main reasons were family and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
