What surprised you most about Union City?

Hello, I'm originally from San Francisco and Poverty rate is 4.5%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 68,141 people. Homes are going for about $1,058,200 on average. Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Nice parks and trails
- Strong sense of community
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Sprawl everywhere
- Poor road conditions
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homelessness issues downtown
Cheers. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up.
