Best hidden gems in Union City

I grew up here but left for a while. The unemployment rate is 5.8%, which is about average. Average temperature is around 55--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $1,489 for rent here. The median home value here is around $446,800, which is pretty steep. Crime rate is something to consider -Union City sits at 281.9 per 100K. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Nice parks and trails
- Strong sense of community
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited dining options
- Poor road conditions
- Mosquitoes and humidity
Thoughts? The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Greenfield. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in education. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
