Anyone else feel this way? Military spouse here. With a population of 66,375, Union City is a smaller city. It's a a smaller city city with about 66,375 people. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Cheers. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much stable but now it's improving.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value public transit, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Riverside) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 5 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into running, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
