Anyone else love living in Union?

Anyone else feel this way? You can expect to pay around $1,695 for rent here. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Thoughts? Thanks! Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great seafood places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely better than expected and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (East) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options
- The dating scene scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..
