Best kept secrets of Union Park, FL

Hi all, I relocated for work and Crime rate is something to consider -Union Park sits at 149.5 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 11,111 people. The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $272,700 on average. The median home value here is around $272,700, which seems about average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Lots of new development
- Active local events

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Cold winters
- Rising rent prices
- Mosquitoes and humidity
Is this normal for Union Park? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Raleigh about 9 years ago. The main reasons were school and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is improving.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I work in engineering here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is excellent. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The food scene is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.
