Commute times in Universal City -how bad?

Hey, It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely underrated and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The walkability is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Pittsburgh it's improving.
