Considering Universal City vs Miami -help me decide

Hey everyone, I've been here for 6 years and Rent is about $1,213/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $1,213 for rent here. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The dating scene is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is cultural scene. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Definitely worth checking out..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a HR manager, 51, moved here 2 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Greenfield and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Dating scene is rough
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The pet-friendliness situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for singles. solid vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $50K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
