Career opportunities in University CDP (Hillsborough County), FL

Crime rate is something to consider -University CDP (Hillsborough County) sits at 315.8 per 100K. The median home value here is around $146,400, which is actually reasonable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Is this normal for University CDP (Hillsborough County)? The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Atlanta it's underrated.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Fairview area are decent. Kids love it here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 12 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
