Honest thoughts on life in University CDP (Hillsborough County)

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a college student here and The median home value here is around $146,400, which is actually reasonable. Crime rate is something to consider -University CDP (Hillsborough County) sits at 315.8 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Would love some local perspective. Cheers.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in Old Town for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- The cost of living scene is decent

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- The weather scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much established but now it's better than expected.
