Best and worst neighborhoods in University of Virginia
Been meaning to ask this. We're a young couple and Household incomes average around $44,635 in University of Virginia. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Let me know your thoughts. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much established but now it's decent.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely improving and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Downtown) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
