Hey everyone, Median household income is $150,993, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Upper Arlington sits at 33.6 per 100K. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What are your go-to spots?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Tampa about 6 years ago. The main reasons were family and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Hope this helps!.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a accountant, 38, moved here 5 years ago from San Francisco. I've lived in West and Highland, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Good airport with direct flights
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Not very walkable outside downtown
3. The dating scene situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for young professionals. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Highland: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Francisco, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $100K-$80K here.
**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Used to live on the Sunset side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.
