Hey folks, Just moved here 3 months ago and Rent is about $1,480/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. Am I wrong here? The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Austin about 13 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are stable, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Atlanta about 6 years ago. The main reasons were family and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is tough.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. No regrets on my end..
