Random thought, I'm originally from Albuquerque and The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,783 for rent here. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I overthinking this? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Riverside. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in marketing. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Thai.
No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Downtown area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The job market scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
