What surprised you most about Urban Honolulu?

Random thought, Poverty rate is 7.9%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $85,428 in Urban Honolulu. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. Any advice would be great. Cheers. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Seattle it's solid.
