Worst things about Urban Honolulu nobody talks about

Hi all, I'm a college student here and The median home value here is around $834,100, which is pretty steep. It's a a mid-size city city with about 346K people. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Does this match your experience?

Came here for school and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The safety is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 2 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

I work in marketing here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is average. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in West for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
- The housing market scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..
